Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ivana Stamatović, addressed the Women Parliamentarians Forum held within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul

Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ivana Stamatović, addressed the Women Parliamentarians Forum held within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Istanbul, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the role of women in parliaments worldwide and their key contribution to building inclusive and sustainable societies.

In her address, Stamatović announced the upcoming IPU Global Conference of Women Parliamentarians, to be held in Belgrade from 2 to 4 June 2026. She emphasized that the conference will provide a key platform for exchanging experiences, enhancing cooperation, and strengthening women’s political leadership globally.

Inviting fellow parliamentarians from around the world, Stamatović called on women legislators to apply and actively participate in the upcoming conference in Belgrade,in order to jointly contribute to further advancing gender equality and strengthening democratic institutions.

She underlined that the Republic of Serbia remains committed to promoting equal participation of women in political life and strengthening international parliamentary cooperation, expressing confidence that the upcoming conference will provide strong momentum for further global initiatives in this field.
